I'm looking for towns that fit the following criteria, any suggestions?
- Quality public schools
- Abundant outdoor recreation opportunities
- Good dining/cultural/entertainment opportunities
- Total cost of housing at something slightly less than insane. By this I mean it can't be crazy high priced AND very high property taxes. So, for example, Austin has high prices and high taxes, no good. Boulder has insane prices, so no good even though taxes appear low. I'd probably take Boulder over Austin, however.
- Not insanely hot in summer or insanely bad winters (seasons are fine/optional)
- Not a huge city
- Probably only looking at US cities, but would fantasize about places outside the US if you have an idea.
Other notes:
- criteria listed in approximate order of importance
- this is a real post, but mostly just indulging my dream of taking an extended break from work. Unless I get fired next month, I'm not really going to do this.
