You all are crazy. This is a hobby. A first world hobby. I take money to mule and will continue to do it. Get over your righteous selves and make a real difference in the world.

How much money can you make doing this? How do you get your clients? What steps do you take to try to avoid detection?I don't expect you to be able to answer any of these questions but I'm curious if someone else might chime in with information. I've always assumed this is an extremely rare happening but maybe I'm wrong. How on earth could anyone have an open and frank conversation about agreeing to do something like this? How could you justify it?The one example I can understand is the woman who couldn't run because she was injured, gave her bib away to a friend, then used her friend's time as a BQ. I assume she didn't plan that in advance--just realized after the fact that it was an option. But I'm probably being naïve.Anybody know the inside scoop on this practice?

Craigslist, live in a popular running community, don't make a living at it of course, best paid gig to date was $100. Mostly just do it for races I want to run anyway. There are others.

I could really see someone making a living out of it. However, it's just almost impossible to get away with it because today's technology is just too great. Most races are photographed at the starting line and at the finish line, so your face will be captured. You would have to bib mule for males only, and you would need to wear a hat and sunglasses while doing it. A runner could possibly get away with it in that scenario, but then you would have to have the same body type as the person you are muling for, too.
The risk outweighs the reward, because a runner who mules, and gets caught, could be banned for life...It's not worth it.

Dickheads like you need to be punched hard in the throat.
Bib-mulling isn't a victimless offense.
OP, you suck

How so? His sponsor takes the spot of the person who otherwise would have qualified last for Boston?
I'd like to get into this. I don't see any mule ads on craigslist. Is there a darkweb site or something I need to know about and be wiling to be paid in bitcoin?
Qualifying for Boston is like running a 2:30 800, which nobody has EVER been paid for
I wear a Mike Rossi costume fabricated from recycled d-bags.
Would love to discuss details with you further but I know this thread is 5 years old.
I'd be interested in hiring you. I know the thread is 5 years old. Please respond if you're still active.
OP probably fell to the 'vid.
Who cares.
not like he’s doing it for the people and winning the race or taking places/prize money from those who run for a living.
the fact that this makes you so angry makes me want to do it too.
$100 for muling in, I assume a half/marathon, is way too little. There are literally 5k fun runs I do that pay that much.
I'm guessing you'd do this for people that wanna qualify for Boston etc. I'd be charging $500-$1000. The risks are huge for doing this. And the clientele must be super desperate people. Like, you'd literally rather pay someone than just train for a few months? Sheesh. You better pay up then!!
Bib Muler here. last year I made almost $15,000 doing it. My GF made 7,000. Going rate is $1000 for an American, $2000 for a foreigner. Run a low key race, don't ask for an absurd gualifying time and no one will ever know. Some clients have me run 3 races so the qualifer isn't a red flag outlier. Getting paid a thousand for what to me is a training run is not a bad deal.
Hello, how do I get in contact with you for your services?
That's not obvious or anything.
There's this guy named Derek. He has a very particular set of skills, skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like you. If you stop now, that'll be the end of it. Derek will not look for you. Derek will not pursue you. But if you don't, Derek will look for you. He will find you, and he will out you.
Used to run under an assumed name a lot, Chandra B0zelko. Others have used said name for their own purposes.
