Wheating
Andrews played a bit in HS
Charles Jock was a California state champ in basketball
David Mack
PG - Brandon Johnson, 5'9" 160 - I imagine his 6.8 60m speed would have some relevance on the court. I am tempted by Coe's resemblance to Stockton, though.
SG - Charles Jock, 6'3" 163 - an above poster pointed out he's played basketball before, which is better reasoning than my other picks.
SF - Alberto Juantorena, 6'2" 185 - would provide tenacious defense and rebounding and finish the pick & roll with the power that enabled him to run 44.26.
PF - Andrew Wheating, 6'5" 175 - specifically, the 2008 Wheating who would enjoy Christian Laettner type triumphs in every big game, not the 2016 version who would barely make the stat sheet.
C - Jack Bacheler, 6'7 170 - the Shaun Bradley of our little league here.
6th man - Tsegeye Kebede, 5'2" 110 - in spite of his stature he's got a crossover that can breaks ankles and is hung like a horse.
Interesting answers so far!
Mottram is the Larry Bird of track & field
Duane Solomon. Dude looks more like a baller than a runner.
Lopez Lomong is the answer to every athletic question.

Some good picks so far. Definitely Juantorena would be a baller.
I would like to add Don Kardong (6'3") the bronze medalist at the 76 marathon (well OK he finished 4th but...we all know about Waldemar.). He actually played basketball in HS. In fact his basketball coach tricked him to join cross country to get him in shape for basketball.
Also what about Robert Cheruiyot (6'3")? Jason Hartmann (6'3") always seemed strong/muscular even at 160 (he's up to 203 now).
Caster can probably dunk.
Shannon Rowbury.
Jenny Simpson (is a fox).
Kaiha Bertollini.
Blanka Vlasic (another wildcard)
ooops, and the fifth would be...
Ivet Lalova.
For obvious reasons.
Also my super sub would be Mercy Cherono.

Slow marathoners would be pretty useless. 800 guys are the best picks given the topic's parameters.

Ah, the all-Mormon route. Bold strategy.

In general, I would agree with you but Kardong had 50% fast twitch fibers (look it up if you don't believe), could run a 50 400m (probably faster if properly trained). Not exactly a "natural" marathoner. And he had basketball experience.

Yeah haha I got lazy and couldn't think of two more prominent Mormons to complete the team so... Yup. I know there are more though.
