Just started a track club and we are an official club in for USATF and our local USATF organization. Just wondering if anybody knows how to obtain EDP designation from USATF and get that extra funding.

Elite Development Club Application
The EDC application form is intended to give all interested USATF clubs the opportunity to assess and communicate to USATF two things:

...@usatf.org.
Thats sherlock...we are already a registered udatf club.
Looking for advice on the criteria etc to become an EDP club,
there is little info.
I followed USATF IT's instructions and came up with lots of info...
Also there is an FAQ...
It seems like if you have a track record of these guys being close to OTQ standards, then you are likely to get some support. As long as it is greater than the $100 application fee, it's worth taking advantage of, correct?
You should know whether any of the members of the club have the potential to run Olympic Trials qualifiers in the next 12 months. They are unlikely to give support to a group consisting of only guys running 14:30 or slower in the 5K, for instance.
I'd suggest also reaching out to a shoe company for potential assistance. Every major brand has sales and technical representatives in all regions of the country. If you can make a strong business case to them for providing some exposure and press for the brand, they may be able to support with some gear. You just have to be a little entrepreneurial here and be wiling to get rejected.
One more piece of advice you didn't ask for: Why not establish some sort of "cut" from race winnings that goes into the club fund. So if one of your guys wins $100 in a local 5K, they keep $50 and the club gets $50. That club pot then funds some travel expenses, race entries, or some kegs for a rager.
Just a thought.
Intersting concept, might work. But not sure if people on team would go for soemthing like that.
We do have a couple of athletes that have already made various national championships and a couple looking to make Oly trials. Would that make
a difference in procurring EDP status and form other various sources?
Holy F****ing Sh**. Employee 1.1 just broke 15:00 for 5000 for the 1st time at age 36.
