This meet had some crazy fast times. The 1600 was especially competitive and surprising. You had to run a 4:15 or faster to just move on to the area meet. In the 3200, 9:15 was the winning time, but through the first lap, the split was a 79 (give or take half a second). In the 800, Myles Marshall (he had a pr of 1:48 as a junior) ran a 1:52 and second place was 1:53. In the 4x4 a 3:16 was required to move on to area. The open 400 also had really good times. To win shotput, 64 feet or further was required. There were many other impressive runs and throws. And the competition was great. It was easily most competitive in Texas.
