Not getting a lot of attention but pretty good performances last Sunday in Tilburg (NL) during Tilburg Ten Miles and Ladies run 10k:
Betsy Saina (former Iowa State) won in the 10k in a WL 30.46min. She beat Emily Chebet (former WXC) and also Joyce Chepkirui (WL until this race). Saina and Chebet hit 5k in 15.29 and Saina took of for the win. For the last three years Tilburg had the best time in the women's 10 km of the year (courserecord of 30.30 by T. Dibaba last year).
Bernard Koech (Chicago marathon bound, 2.04.53 Dubai marathon man) won the 10miles race (Haile Gebrselassie set the WR in 2005 in the same event). Koech managed to get the 2nd fastest time ever recorded in Tilburg. He took the scalps of new-comers Kiprop Kiptoo and Tarus. 8th place finisher was Leonard Komon (WR 10km and 15km roads) in 47.27 min, preparing for his debut in Eindhoven.
