I always hear mixed opinions. Some people say he's a billionaire and great businessman. Other people say he's a bad businessman. I have no idea what makes one a good or bad businessman. So which is it? Thanks.

He's good at marketing his "brand" for others to use. He's not, personally, a good businessman
You generally have to screw a lot of people over to be a billionaire. That can be good or bad depending on your personal view. Many "bad" people have been very "good" at making a lot of money.
The world and this site in particular are full of haters who want to tear down anyone who achieves success. You don't become a billionaire by not being a great businessman.
Trump got his start as a trust funder. Never had a job. Went bankrupt and instead of going to jail, had a bailout. Pretty much anybody could achieve what he has with those infusions of other people's cash.
Those are the facts.

You are an idiot and a hater and your envy couldn't be more conspicuous.

Does that mean we should just make stuff up about him?

Just stating the facts. No hate or jealousy involved. If you can't handle the facts, then you have a desperate and pathetic realization of your own underachievement in life. Probably as a result of affluenza and being ignored as a child.

Most people become billionaires without being great businessmen. It is called inheritance. All of the Walton's after Sam, all of the Rockefellers after John. And most of the first generation billionaires were criminals. I guess that your heroes are Bernie Madoff and Ferdinand Marcos.

You betrayed your envy—your resentment of Trump's success—when you insinuated that you would have liked to have seen him gone to jail for going bankrupt. Since bankruptcy isn't a crime, what you really meant is that ou just want to see him ruined for its own sake.
Trust fund or not, inherited wealth doesn't lead to business success. The world is full of trust fund babies who never did anything with their lives because they lacked the ambition or ability or both. Trump grew his fortune many times over by making good business decisions.
It is pretty hard to come up with a billionaire who didn't inherit or steal the money. No Wall Streeter or investor, not Bill Gates, not any of the robber barons, not Zuckerberg. Larry Ellison? Elon Musk? I guess that there are a few, but the percentage is low.
Trump doesn't even come close to being a good businessman. He is basically equivalent to Paris Hilton.

Actually, the fact is that Trump committed fraud (a felony) when he went bankrupt. He conspired with his father to launder money through one of his casinos. You need to check your facts.

You know, you are coming across as a lot more bitter and angry than aaron burr is.
Trump was in the US Air Force. Which branch were you in?
He's a good businessman because he's had a lot more success than failure.
I have no comment on whether he's a good businessman or not but his father was one of the most successful real estate developers in the outer boroughs of NYC so he had some huge advantages in life and in particular in NY real estate.
He does have a talent for being able to declare bankruptcy multiple times and still be a billionaire: http://www.mademan.com/mm/how-many-times-has-donald-trump-filed-bankruptcy.html
When you own dozens of different companies, keeping all but four of them out of bankruptcy is a pretty good track record, which is why he's a billionaire and you're not. If you were responsible for operating that many companies, they'd probably all go bankrupt.
Wait, is bankruptcy illegal? Declaring bankruptcy is one of the rules of the game. How many times have the airlines gone bankrupt?
