No, track, at least for American distance fans, is more exiting now that EPO is more detectable and asthma and hypothyroid suffering white Americans are medal contenders
Womans 800m WR will be 30 years old in a couple of weeks and the 400 are close behind. Thank god for the Chinese. The womans 1500/3000 and 10k are only going to be 20 years old.

it takes away the integrity from the sport brooooo. THE WHOLE POINT of track is to see who the faster runner, best racer, etc is. not who has the best PED's. come on now.
but who knows, people get faster with every generation, so EVENTUALLY the current world records will be broken. personally, and i know most of you will disagree, i think that SOME of the super studs were clean (I believe Gebrsalasie was clean). However I think that the female chinese mid distance world records (1500, 3000, 10k) from 1993 are absolutely disgustingly filthy and drugged up and maybe I am a little bit suspicious of Bekele's 5k record. my point is though that all records fall eventually.
I've been participating and following track since the 60's and I have said let the juice (PEDs) flow ever since the late 80s. Because ever since the late 70s/early 80s things haven't been fair. People aren't playing on equal playing field and won't until detection/science/technology catches up with rhe dopers. I don't like to watch and cheer cheaters but its just not fair the way it is. If they all cheat then at least its fair. And times will be fast so maybe more people will watch.
2 world records were just broken, Rudisha in the 800 and Merritt in the 110 hurdles. so your claim of no wr's being broken is false

I agree that all the drugs should be legalized. When the stop being promoted, then people will stop using them and times will be fast again.
Right now people are afraid to set a fast pace, because they're afraid they'll keel over from all the drugs they're taking.
one issue is that it is still giving unfair advantage to the people who can afford the best drugs.
it is funny that when the drug cops are on the prowl, or when testing / bio-passport will out the cheaters, times go back to low 13s and low 27s ... like back in the old days. Coinkydink?

Just my personal opinion. I think it wouldn't make a difference. I guessing EPO was like the magic combination. I guess hey if there where doping, what's to say they where not stacking and doing three to four combinations. LA scandal already exposed us to this fact.

Why not give the death penalty for testing positive? Arm WADA with secret op's assassins, and give them permission to kill the athlete, the drug provider, members of the athlete's family, and anyone who got in their way.
Make each positive test it's own version of the movie "Munich."
That would pretty much take care of doping.

Great idea - you do understand why certain medications are "prescription-only" don't you?
The USATF can't "legalise" the administration of restricted drugs to healthy people, all they would be doing is opening themselves up to a massive lawsuit when somebody dies.

Track was more fun for me when the British and Finns and Belgians, etc had great distance runners all mixed in with the Africans- back in the 70's.
It's a lot more fun as it is. Every five years or so a new superstar is created by the discovery of new drugs. Bolt is the current. Jordan Hasay is the next.
