I guess Bekele figures he made his point in Eugene and is on the team.
Merga has already been selected as well.
ADDIS ABABA (ETH): Legendary Kenenisa Bekele was confirmed by Ethiopian Federation as qualified for 10 000 m at World Championships. Also confirmed is second from Prefontaine Classic race Imane Merga. Third place goes to reigning world champion Ibrahim Jeylan. Fourth place remains open and will be confirmed based on times achieved during the current season. For the moment on that spot is Abera Kuma, but his selection was not confirmed yet. There is still a possibility for another runner if able to achieved faster than 27:13.10.

The 10,000m, which currently has Gebremeskel, Merga, and 3 others on the start list, but no Gebrhiwet, is slated to begin at 9:15pm local time, which would be 2:15pm in the Central Time Zone in the U.S. and of course 3:15 in the Eastern Time Zone, and so on.
