Because 99% of the USA doesn't know anything about T+F. What little they do know is limited to the 100m, Michael Johnson, Carl Lewis and the current Balco deal.
Wariner is a stud. Youngest male to win OT 400m in 20 years. He's only a soph. at Baylor. Amazing talent!
Because he is the perfect model for drugs in sports today.
White Guy
Sophmore in College
Fastest Time in the World.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGHHHHHHHTTTTTTTt
A big part of the conversation around Wariner is that he is white. Because he's white, he would make a great 800m runner. Besides MJ, no other 400m guy I can recall has been given that praise. I thought he looked fantastic myself at the trials, but even though he's a serious Gold Medal contender, he's getting hyped in here more than if he was black.
I'm white also, but call it like I see it.
Why would he make a great 800 runner because he is white?
Is common knowledge that Blacks run fast 400m. Whites run fast 800m. And Asians run fast marathons. All stereotypically speaking.
ok who would win a 600, warner or johnson??
I would highly doubt that Jeremy eats BK Whoppers the night before the big race.

JJ in a tight race, 1:12.26-1:12.57
he was talking about michael johnson
On the topic of Blacks vs. White in the speed category, isn't there some differnce in muscle structure or even the tendons or ligiments between the two? Does anyone have any information on this?
Why can't you simply appreciate Jeremy's talent and ignore his race? It's truly sad that so many people on this site get hung up on skin color.
In the immortal words of En Vogue: Free your mind and the rest will follow.
I love wariner

That\\\'s funny because Jeremy is actually a 200m guy who moved up to the 400...His coach thinks that with some training a sub-20 is in the mix very soon. Doesn\\\'t seem that he\\\'s going for the 800.
He hasn't won an Olympic medal yet... Once he does and stays at the top of his game, he will be popular. Especially if he can win some 400m Gold and 4x400 Gold. Give it time...
Yea, he didn't win any major international honors yet. He'll be much more popular after the Olympics. (Assuming he medals, which is very likely)
of course johnson would win in anywhere from 100-800, just because wariner is white makes him better at the 8?
I just heard of him this year and know nothing about him except what he has done on the track. Let's see him do something internationally.
