Sorry I don't think Chelenga is getting enough credit here. Just because it wasn't his 10k debut doesn't mean his performance was anything but incredible. The guy just crushed his own collegiate record, old american record, and beat rupp. According to his interview he's not 100% healthy which means he could very well end up being one of the top 10k runners in history. Not only that but the guy is humble, quiet, talks no smack, and makes no predictions. Chelenga fan all the way! Mcdougal had it right when he said Sam was the most talented guy he'd ever met.
like a few other guys out there, he is a great example of a great runner who just trains, runs with heart, and doesn't need someone holding his hands.
