Pretty good, and obviously excited interview with Chris:
He mentions they are going to Oslo for a 5K and to blow the rust out and then attacking the 5K in Eugene, hoping to go under 13:00 on U.S. soil.
A couple thoughts:
A) What happens if you have Lagat, Solinsky, Teg, Rupp, Ritz & Webb (or even 3-4 or them) trying to get into Oslo for 5K? Who get's in and why? Ritz, Lagat & Teg all should since they are all under 13:00 but it would be nuts if Rupp and Solinsky and Webb could not because all 3 of them can (and I believe will) go under 13:00.
U.S. distance running is so massive right now that our top guys have the problem of not getting into major international race because fellow americans are keeping them out?!
B) Will we see sub 13 at PRE?
In this case hopefully at least Rupp, Solinsky, Lagat & Teg are in it. Not sure of Teg's status and I'm guessing Ritz is not too interested in 5K (already having the AR and going well under 13) since he has only mentioned the 10K and the marathon with the marathon being his ultimate goal for fall. Webb is a big unknown but if he can get in a race or two before PRE why not sit him in the back with low pressure/expectations.
Basically, go USA. And haters, please retire.
