Solinsky says in the interview that he is running with Simon a lot who is doing marathon training. Anyone know what kind of workouts these guys have been doing in the last few months? He does mention an 8 mile hilly tempo at like 4:40 pace or so.

why was he talking about his training partners getting ready for New York? thats a long ways off. was he talking about last fall?
anyone with info on his traning????
what's with all the hush hush about their training, it's not like high security breach, why does this group hide their training, share the knowledge Nike you are not the CIA
Schumacher needs to open up, he wouldn't even agree to an interview from Ryan F. on flotrack, does he think he is some sort of movie star or what, realize he could be just shy or what not but a flotrack interview has to be painless
It is interesting that Ritz did marathon training and
ended up doing what he did in the 5k. Now Solinsky says
that he has mostly being doing marathon training himself.
Its been said many times before but it would be great to
see Hall take all this marathon training from the last few
years and spend some time doing 5k/10k specific training.
Not just races but training. Especially considering he
almost broke 4 for the mile in high school. I think he
could run some fast times.
Get over it. Jerry's training plan(s) have been discussed many times over the years, starting with when they won the NCAA xc title in 05 i think it was. You can/were able to find lots of their core training principles discussed by multiple members of the group on the Kimbia site for several years. Especially when they were running that Wisconsin to Worlds promo that had interviews every week. There's no real secret. go look for it.
Jerry does not like to be on camera - anyone's camera. He has nothing against flotrack. In fact, he's always been in a good mood around them. He just does not like to be on camera. His prerogative.
Great. Let the fact twisting, false conclusions, and crazy overanalyzation begin!

just finished looking at the live chat with Simon and Chris, after a question on their training Simon stats, "can't go into detail", why not will Nike give him a slap on the wrist, come on can't go in into detail, that's BS
Well if you read the first part of the chat, where Kimbia Athletics introduces the fellas, you'd see they wanted to keep the discussion on other things and not bog down the chat with a bunch of training related questions.
If you honestly believe that these guys are under some kind of orders to not discuss their training, I feel sorry for you like I feel sorry for all the whacko conspiracy theorists out there.
Go look on Kimbia's site for all the old vids. Teg, Solinsky, Nelson, and Bairu all discuss training.
Off the top of my head:
Plenty of mileage
long progression tempo runs are a year-long staple
more track sessions than you might imagine, but they're short and quick and integrated into longer workouts
typical race/goal pace stuff when the meat of the season comes along
I know it must be mindblowing to imagine these guys are not doing anything secret or magical.
It is my understanding that what ever training he is doing it is with the 5,000m in mind.
So he's running a lot of miles, probably at least 120/week. That's the most important thing you need to know.
