I was just wondering, has any other American distance runner (or any other event for that matter) broken the American record on their professional race debut at a specific distance or is Solinsky the first?

Shalane Flanagan, also in a 10k debut.
Prefontaine. 10k.
I would have said this also, but Pre had run the 6 mile several times already, including the AR, CR at that (more common in college in the '70's) distance.

Greg Fredericks, 10k, although he had run a 6 mile before. So had Pre. Of course Solinsky had run many XC 10ks before.
I broke the HM record on my first effort, though I imagine road ARs would have happened many times before and since.
