I don't know all there is to know about Solinski. He has excellent times from 2007. I way off in my prediction of this race since I thought it would be closer to 27:30. Big props to Rupp for doing what he set out to do: break the AR of 27:13. But comparing the two it seems Solinski might have the edge in talent. What is the general feeling here though, does Solinski improve on this time or was it the run of a lifetime? How much faster could he or Rupp legitimately go?

Nobody is perfect, but they don't need to be in order to see the gigantic, capitalized letters on a page you have to see when you visit letsrun's homepage. I don't care if you spell words wrong, but the name of a guy who has been on the radar since 2002 should be locked down by now. Its almost as bad as people spelling Ritz's name wrong...("Ritzenhiem")

The huge question for me is whether Solinsky can do the high volume of mileage he said he has been doing recently and stay healthy doing it. Thats the whole trick. Bill Dellinger once said that Pre's greatest natural gift was staying healthy and not missing workouts. (Dying in car crashes not withstanding). If Solinsky can do that than yeah, he should be looked at as a huge talent. But then I won't be surprised either if his career takes a roller coaster ride like Ritz has gone where he is off and on injured.
