I was talking to some friends about the image of professional athletes and how the image that an athlete perpetuates can have a huge affect on whether or not people cheer for that person. Rupp is a great example, he's been deemed the next big thing in running and 2 out of 3 runners hate the guy. Its easy to hate him because he has been handed all types of extras from Nike, hes been given amazing training since he was a kid, and when you get right down to it Rupp seems like an annoying person. Now that Solinsky has put forth a performance that makes him the favorite for the moniker of the next big thing in American distance running. So, what does Rupp have to do to change is image and gain some support in the running community?
