And to all those that say that Rupp never leads a race and takes it out?

first time in a long time when rupp hasn't gotten to sit on someone else. he still ran a great race and broke the AR, but that's how it goes!
He did thank Galen and his rabbits for setting up the pace right. He also said that he ran the type of race that some will crticize - sitting back and letting the others do the work.
Rupp wins the PRE award and much like PRE he didn't win the big one!
PAYBACK SUCKS DOESN'T IT?!?!?!!?!
this proves the importance of strategy in races. Rupp never lead last year in any races until two laps to go, yet he won everytime. This race he finally leads for a large percentage of the race, and he looses. I actually give credit to rupp for leading and going for the record, but man, Solinsky's first 10k and an AR. Baller status!. The way the race was run, i wouldn't be surprised if Rupp breaks it later this year in Europe if he can be the solinsky and just pace through it. I wonder what race Solinsky will be focusing on in the future...... actually i bet he can better his per of 1312 if he continues racing like this. With Teg an Lagat at 5k, our distance is looking goooooood! Ritz didn't even run!
Rupps got some work to do if that was Solinsky's first ever 10k on the track. Solinsky looks like he can drop that time a lot more.

This comment makes no sense and so means nothing.
Additionally, this was not "the big one."
And Rupp has won plenty of big races.
What kind of sad pathetic mindscape do you live in where a guy runs 27:10 all u can do is bag on him?

He ran several races last year where he went out right from the gun after times.
Also indoor 5k record attempt at BIG, rupp pushed the pace and got outkicked...wasn't that long ago.
solinsky is used to hanging with the big dogs in international races. never saw this coming though!
No kidding, Rupp has made a living off sitting in the 2 spot and letting someone else do all the hard work. It's a little different when he has to lead and do some work, doesn't have the same advantage. Thought it was funny how Solinsky spoke of Rupp's pacers. Only Rupp can afford to have pacers in a race set up for him. Not very many other american runners can get this done. Props to Salazar for looking out for Rupp.
