Hey runners, hope all is well. 60 miles this week with a 14 miler on Friday. Things are going along good, getting my miles in and staying relatively injury free for now. Crossing off the days on the calendar. Seems like the weekends have the coldest days of the week lately in ma. At least we missed a major snowstorm that those more south had to deal with. Anyone here buried in 2 feet of snow today?
Topic: Age Graded Races
Do any or all of you calculate your age graded times or know what your ag races/pr's are? Below is A link to the WMA Age Graded Calculator. Many of you have probably used one of these, just enter your age, gender, race distance and time and you'll get your percentage and equivolent times. I believe they consider over 90% world class, over 80% national, and over 70% regional, 60% local. Anyone here over 90%?
Also this site, Younger Legs For Older Runners is pretty good. You can get ranked by simply enetering your recent race times for your respective age group. Lot's of good reading and links here too. They link up our 50+ thread there each week.
For me I've hit a few races over 80% ag. Both my mile time of 5:09 at age 49 and my 5k in 18:16 at 49 were both above 80%. Not much but above. I think I should be getting in the 80's on more distances going forward as I hope to retain some of my speed as I reach older ages. Hope being the key word here.
