Ditto on the psoas. I'm dealing with hamstring tightness, back pain, glute pain, and hip pain; I think alot of it is attributed to the psoas. Check to see if your psoas is tight and/or weak.

Easy days. Resting might not help.

Simple overuse injury of the psoas. It tightens up so you don't keep overdoing it and doing more damage. Take it easy for a few days and start doing this stretch at the bottom of the page.

If that doesn't do it, a massage therapist may have to realign your pelvis if the psoas has pulled it out of place. It is still an overuse injury so rest is the best cure.

Sciatic nerve - runs down back and into hamstring

Tight hamstring can be the hamstring attempting to protect the sciatic nerve from damage. Base of back muscles tighten same reason. Can also be slight tear

After warm up do hamstring stetch it helps back and hamstring

Do dynamic warm up before running this also

Jog & do heel flicks on count of four (don't flick! do running action) Then knees up same on four.

Now do alternates on same leg knee heel knee heel etc this really help on the hamstrings

See PT/physio as well don't mess with your hamstring !!!

Ditto on all of the above. If you can, also look into getting your hips adjusted in case they got misaligned a bit, it's really common to get those out of whack and it can cause SO many niggling issues (dealing with it right now), ham stuff, glute, quad, back, you name it. Takes about 10-15 minutes to do the adjustments. Just a thought--G'luck!

Thanks guys. You nailed it with the psoas. After taking the weekend relatively easy and doing some new stretches, things are starting to feel better. Still considering the hip adjustment if the problem persists. I plan to make some core exercises part of my routine, rather than just incorporating them when it's convenient. Had a little bit of panic setting in, when didn't know if I would be able to continue training. Feeling much more confidant now.
