I've increased by mileage to about 80/90 miles a week, previously I was running 50/60 miles, the goal is to ideally improve my 5000m time and also 10km time (haven't done one for a while).
My current personal best times are
14.49 for 5km on the road
14.53 for 5000m.
68.30 for a half marathon and 31.40 for 10km.
I have had 4 weeks avg. 80 miles per week training, with 2 sessions a week (tempo and interval). Currently at the moment, I'm tired and dont feel too quick, should I continue this "high mileage" for a little longer (8 weeks) and when I do bring it down, what should I aim for?
Runs are at approx 7/7.10 miling (easy runs). 6 miles tempo at 5.25 miling. Did a session on Sat 6 x 1200m off 90 seconds jog on dirt track, averaging 3mins 40sec, last week 2km, 5x1km off 90 seconds (5.58, 2.57's for km's - on track). Longest run is 15 miles (at 7 minute miling).
Other sessions with pace suggestions would be much appreicated, also should I try to increase the pace of my easy runs and also what pace should I be trying to hit my paced runs at (going to start doing these on the track).
