The pussy stopped after 7:34 and 67.4 km covered? That small amount of 10:50/mile place did him in? Charity runners could have beat him!
He ran to the race. California to Canada to Alaska to the Bering Strait (swimming) to Asia to Seoul. Then the race. He miscalculated and got there eight hours after the start.
I did a quick search on the Runnerworld forum, but didn't see Deano's fine performance mentioned. Was hoping to share some comments from his disappointed fans.
Interesting not a single Ethiopian, Kenyan or Morrocan runner. Africa knows where its at, and it's not at this 9-10 minutes per mile bullshit.
I don't have much respect at all for Dean, and like many in the ultra-community, I don't think his achievements are much beyond the higher end of mediocre.
Still, every step in an ultra involves a bit of luck, I guess Dean just didn't have much luck that day... No matter how you put it, 67k is well below deans ability. But even with all the luck in the world he couldn't have come within spitting distance of 272k (!!)
