This is all I could save from when I left my computer on. It was from page 40. Attach Rono inspird mile win last week.
RE: Henry Rono training for masters mile record. 7/8/2006 9:17AM - in reply to TLFKAS
To veryslowrunner.
That is why I stop talking about my log book of training.I will mess-up alot of people.I remember when I was coaching high school, the school head coach told me to understand who I was dealing with is kids and their different life style.I had to control my-self talking about my training. How I did it when I was in WSU and what I'm doing now.
WSU coach told me if you are running 18 mile + hills per day, please say you are runing 6 miles + hills by saying that, it makes alot of sense to people in the USA.That is why we never allowed a reporter to step on our compus. They might report our training lesson plan.
Kenyans in WSU were coach differently than American runners and my coach in WSU reporter never like him.
"How come you never coach American kids to do what Henry Rono do?," they asked.
Now I'm thinking and going long way back the significant fruits of running success and why it became so productive. The coach told me ,if you keep explaining your training no one wants to hear it, unless it fits well with their running feelings.

To TLFKAS,
I didn't know there was a guy by the name, Gerry Lingren, until coach Chaplin was telling the reporters saying that don't look at Henry and Samson are the only guys comes here to brake world records, we had Gerry Lingren who broke the 5k say Coach Chaplin.Later I heard Gerry was under Coach Mooberry.Chaplin never Claim that he is a good coach, he only refers himself as a good recruiter.if you want a good coach is Bill Dillenger who coaches salazar up in U fo O.
Every time parents meets him on a hall-way,he talks to them about the exellency of academics about their kids nothing about running, but comes to us.
"How many miles did you do today?" ask Coach chaplin.Coach Chaplin always have hard time explaining things about our running VS American athletes,he always uneasy of himself and very sensitive to talk about it,making it look like there's something secrect in his coaching.Soon, later I discovered that, he is scared of being suit by the athletes' parents.Because He couldn't talk with them the way he could talk to Kenyan runners.

To sit ups for running.
I'm not supposed to answer about my training, but because of my sincerity, I will answer this one.Doing sit-ups is my individualized program that fits Henry Rono due to his problem of beer belly. That carrys 35lbs.I'm trying to kill some dirt that are sits right in my back and the opposite direction younging underneath my belly takes away those junk fatty icids brings back the new Henry Rono and my breathing lungs will have extra room for air.And you have a new kid in running. How is that sound?
Am i make sense please edit to make sense to you.

To Malmo,
Malmo wrote:What Henry is alluding to is not a sponsorship by the usual definition. I know a guy (Hodgie-san knows him as well) who has a boutique shoe company, he makes and markets martial arts shoes. When he heard about the "Summer of Rono" he offered to make a few pairs of trainers for him. They would be labeled "RonoRun," custom made for Henry and only Henry.
There is no "sponsorship" in the payola sense, just an offer to help the good cause from guys who like to run and feel the wind in their faces.
Malmo, tickles me to dead when he says,
"just an offere to help the cause from guys who like to run and feel the wind in their faces."
I will be running next week a mile over here in Akbuquerque,NM. a mile after six weeks of intensive training. I hope I will have no feeling burning fires in the joints and hips.I would like to run and feel the wind in my face as Malmo says with the right shoe in the feet.
Henry
To older than mud.
(qote)"What's the right shoe on the feet....for you?"
The "RonoRun" is the right shoe on the feet....for me.

Henry asksed a series of questions, meant to stimulate a deeper consideration of the critical factors at work in the development of running ability. Some of those questions were:
How does a coach speak to athletes?
Where does running form originate from?
What pushes an athlete on to higher levels of performance, despite difficulties encountered along the way
To oldSchooler,
Stay tune, I will be back. I will update my training. Today is 39 day of training, phase II. This evening, I will give you all work-out.Let us stay on top of things and go from there.....
