A friend of mine once derisively told me that Michael is the next Kobe.

There is a reason people don't watch the NBA like they used to. It's loaded to the gills with players who have TONS of talent and zero class. Kobe is a prime example of that, but he's certainly not the only one. what a total crybaby pussy.

Bryant is so overrated, 45% from the field, 2/3 of all NBA Teams shoot better than that so they are quite happy if Kobe takes his 30 shots a game, i would rather have Chris Mullin(shooting 25ppg at 52%FG) on my team than Bryant.
Guys like Bryant,Iverson,Arenas and Carter demonstrate what's wrong with NBA Baskebtall these days, they take their shots no matter how much they are hurting their teams with a miss after another but are worshipped as Superstars.

Kobe gave up because he didn't want blamed for the loss. That way, he can say, "Hey, I relied on my teammates and they let me down."

Ok, Chris Mullin? Don't be stupid. I understand you don't like Kobe, but putting an alcoholic Chris Mullin in his prime on this years Lakers and they don't even come close to making the playoffs. So if you'd rather lose than win, then take Chris Mullin.
If i want to loose i take someone who takes 30 shots a game and misses more than my opponent, so i would take Kobe.

Not a Kobe fan in the slightest, but, the guy deserves some defense here.
1) If he had thrown up 20 shots in the second half and missed a ton of them, he would have been ripped as a ball hog.
2) Charles Barkely ripped him the other day for not sharing the ball enough, and now that he does, Barkley rips him for that. They were already down a ton by half time, and in that first half, Kobe took a lot of shots. How is it that if he did the same in the second half that they suddenly would have won?
3) Kobe is a star. He is the only star on the Lakers. Look at the rest of that team. Kwame Brown? Lamar Odom? And those are the two NEXT BEST players on that team. Bottom line is that if you want to win in the NBA playoffs you need two stars and the rest good role players. The Lakers have one star and the rest horrible players. Even if they got lucky enough to get to the next round, they would have been DESTROYED in that next round.
Still, Kobe is a punk.
There is a medium though. WHen you are your teams star you have to shot the ball. 3 shots to me says he gave up, 30 shots also says hes a ball hog. He CAN however shoot 20 times a game with 8-10 free throws, and thats what he needs to do. 9-20, 7-10 from the line, 2 threes= 27 points. thats what Kobe needs to along with being able to grab 6 boards and 3-4 assists per game.

So true. He wants so badly to be Jordan, but the fact is that there is only one MJ, just like there was just one Magic and Bird. Those guys can't be duplicated no matter how hard you try. Kobe is so good that being himself and making his own place in history would be enough.
That article did a good job pointing out how contrived much of Kobe's theatrics are. The thing with the fist after big shots? How unoriginal is that?
The nba is so boaring now it is not even worth watching. I call it entertainment not sport. The refs let all the stars get away with everything palming and traveling are no longer called. The players for the most part are jerks Id rather watch a good game of curling. I am never going back to the garden.
