You're close. ALL classified information is based on a "need to know". There is: confidential, secret, and top secret. A LOT of people have a secret clearance. Hell, I have a secret clearance.

The bigger issue is did he break the law with this or with the Comey firing? Even more, is it something that can be proved?

A lot of you weren't around for Bill Clinton's testimony before the grand jury and subsequent impeachment hearings.

I predict Trump will see a similar future before his 4 years are up, but his supposed crimes are more Nixonian in nature.

It only looks like obstruction of justice NOW, at the time the memos where written there was likely insufficient documentation / evidence to even consider such an accusation. Timeline...

1) conversations between Trump and Comey in Jan. and Feb. 2017 which Comey documents in real time. At these meeting Trump reportedly asks for a pledge of loyalty from Comey and asks him to let the Flynn investigation "go". Also, documenting these in official memos is "reporting" it to the FBI....it's just not reporting it to the whole world.

2) more information is revealed about Manifort, Carter Page, and Jeff Sessions re: Russian contacts.

3) Sessions recuses himself from involvement in the investigation. The Deputy AG is put in charge of all things related to Russian investigation. Sessions directly reports to Trump in the chain of command--an important fact to keep in mind.

4) The FBI officially (documented, date, time, etc.) asks the department of justice for additional resources for the Russia investigation.

5) the deputy AG--under the direction of Sessions--writes a memo about Comey AFTER his request for additional resources for the Russia investigation. The Memo is given to the president.

6) the president fired Comey. First using the deputy AGs memo as justification...then backing away from that as it would implicate Sessions who had already recused himself from involvement in the investigation.

7) the president goes on national TV and said he decided to fire Comey himself and sites the Russian investigation as one of the main reasons why.

If you only have #1, the case for obstruction is weak. Looking at all the evidence 1-7, the case is much stronger. Comey is attorney, he knew he didn't have an obstruction case based on comments from the president alone, plus as stated above he did "report" these conversation in memo form in realtime. Now, with everything (1-7) There is an obstruction case--which Comey can't bring forth becuase he was already fired. Comey broke no law.

um...not even the WH is denying that Trump revealed classified information. I don't think that's the hill to die on, trumpers.

There is legal and then there is ethical.

Trump may have done a number of things that are technically legally but overtly unethical.

You can be impeached over ethics even without breaking any laws.

And they'd have to take it all the way. A very tough road.

They tried to impeach Clinton over his grand jury testimony about his relations with an intern. The difference is Clinton lawyer-spoke his way out of a hole, and America really didn't care because in the end all he did was lie about an affair.

Trump won't resign. He will go down in flames. He will have 4 years of this non-stop. I think it may be better for Democrats to let him slowly burn, dooming the GOP over the next two cycles.

Try to keep up. This has nothing to do with the memo. This is about what the White House has already admitted to. They admitted that Trump shared classified information with the Russians.

The only thing in question is the security level of the information Trump was blabbing. The sources say it was code-word classified and it was obtained through an intelligence sharing agreement.

If that is true (and it probably is) then Trump did put us all in danger.

1) Nothing there. Comey didn't report Obstruction of Justice as he should have if the supposed quotes were true. That is against the law.
