It wasn't the fault of the Greeks, it was the crowd plus a few select rectum brains and one apparent near CERTIFIABEL rumproast head.
The Athens people did a nice job from what I can see. You cannot keep ALL the whackos locked up on a marathon course (but I would not mind as I have volunteered at Boston for nearly 20 years and BELIEVE me I have seen WHACKOS) because OTHER whackos of various stripes will protest and whine and file lawsuits and do things like run around naked as they did in NYC 2-3 days ago.

It looked to me like The Skipper (from Gilligan's Island) was standing in the crowd where the incident happened. He looked like the guy who played the biggest role in freeing the runner.

Sadly, Baldini's victory has indeed been overshadowed by the incident. This should have been the crowning moment in a glorious career. I can't believe some no-name nobody from nowhere should come and spoil that. What an asshole!

I'd have worded it differently, but I agree. There's no way to secure a 26 mile road course I suppose. The incident could have been much, much worse if you think about it.
I just think the cars should have run him over when he did that a couple year ago during the Grand Prix.
