June 9, 2009, Fayetteville, Arkansas - Day 1 of the NCAA outdoor track and field championships begins on Wednesday and includes the first round of the 800 and semifinals of the steeplechase and 5k.
On Tuesday, LetsRun.com skipped the press conference and instead made the rounds around the track to try to pick some coaches for gossip. The big news was a prominent coach telling LRC that he'd heard that Oregon's 1,500-meter star, Matt Centrowitz,has a stress fracture. This coach who told us this has a source who supposedly heard it from Centrowitz himself last week at the Pre Classic.
Is it true? Will it matter if it is true? We'll find out shortly.
