Mike Scott Analyzes 2003 Women's At Large XC Selection Process Step
by Step Mike Scott Nov 17, 2003
Here's a step-by-step description of the selection process for the Women's
At Large Teams for this weekend's NCAA D-1 Cross Country Championships at
the University of Northern Iowa.
At
the top of each step -- [Teams listed in brackets] denote teams that were
pushed into the meet by a team that finished behind them at regional
competition; wins over teams that were pushed into the meet do not count
towards at large wins.
For each step, I have listed the bubble team
and the team that finished immediately behind it at the regional
championship; in [brackets] I have listed the # of wins over teams already
accepted into the field as well as which teams the bubble team has
beaten.
At the end of each step, I listed the team selected and the
rationale.
