Fans who watched the 2017 Bislett Games were entertained in a variety of ways on Thursday evening. On the track, two precocious Norwegian talents delighted the home crowd. Off the track, a women’s long jumper’s wig fell off during the event and a rabbit forgot to run the water jump in the women’s steeplechase and then took out the #1 seed from behind.

Jebet won Olympic gold, crushed the world record and put together the greatest season ever by a women's steepler. Coburn has dominated the U.S. scene for years and took it one step further in 2016 by winning her first Olympic medal.

Two Americans crack the top 10. *LRC Coburn: "In general, [I was happy with 2015]. I wish I could have run a PR; that was a goal that I really wanted."

Coburn: "I'm bummed..... I thought I could medal. I was confident that I could.....I just got to keep at it and come away with some hardware in Rio."

Farah will face five men who have broken 7:31 including Hagos Gebrhiwet and Yenew Alamirew. The women's 1500 features '14 world leader Sifan Hassan and '13 world champ Abeba Aregawi, while Ethiopians Sofia Assefa and Hiwot Ayalew will race in the women's steeple. Justin Gatlin (100) and Allyson Felix (200) headline the non-distance action.

Emma Coburn was fantastic all season long and nabs the #2 spot in the world.

Tunisia's Habiba Ghribi beat Ayalew (2nd) and Emma Coburn (5th) in the race, but Ayalew still won the DL title and the $40,000 prize that goes with it. Americans to win DL titles included Jenny Simpson (1500), Tianna Bartoletta (LJ), Reese Hoffa (SP), Christian Taylor (TJ), Michael Tinsley (400 hurdles), LaShawn Merritt (400) and Dawn Harper-Nelson (100 hurdles).

The first of the two DL finals should be spectacular as the winner of the men’s 800 and women’s 1500 likely will take home $50,000 and a spot into 2015 Worlds whereas second will get just a $6,000 consolation prize. Plus New Balance teammates Emma Coburn and Jenny Simpson try to bring home DL titles to the USA.

Simpson will have her hands full with the red-hot Hassan as Shannon Rowbury, Brenda Martinez, Genzebe Dibaba and Meraf Bahta (who beat Hassan to win 5,000 gold at Euros) are also entered in the 1500. Coburn will try to lower her American record as she battles Ethiopian rivals Hiwot Ayalew and Sofia Assefa.

Hellen Obiri looks to keep winning against Abeba Aregawi and Jenny Simpson in the women's 1,500. Can Simpson get the AR or can Rowbury break 4:00? Asbel Kiprop takes on Nijel Amos and the 800 specialists and Emma Coburn goes for her second DL win in the women's steeple. Can she get the American record as well?

Those winning times were very impressive but American fans were pumped by Jenny Simpson's PR and Shannon Rowbury's AR.
