With the Olympics and Diamond league season now over and the big NCAA meets approaching, we start our NCAA top 10 countdown with the women.

With no Kate Avery, the championship picture is wide open. Wisconsin junior Sarah Disanza is the top returner from a year ago but she's far from a shoo-in as she'll be pushed by British import Rhona Auckland (New Mexico) and NCAA track champs Dominique Scott (3k), Rhianwedd Price (1500) and Molly Seidel (10k).

Cheserek will be tired (he's also entered in the DMR Friday and the mile earlier on Saturday) but Oregon will be hoping that he and top seeds Eric Jenkins (7:44.91) and Will Geoghegan (7:45.71) can deliver big points in the final individual event. Scott, runner-up to Abbey D'Agostino last year, will try to prevent Sisson from completing the 3k/5k double.

Michigan State got wins in the 3000 (Rachele Schulist - 9:01) and the DMR where they ran 10:57 to beat Michigan (11:02). Penn State got wins from Robby Creese (3000) and the DMR which ran 9:40.62 to beat Indiana (9:41.68).

The Spartans are favored to win their first-ever NCAA title. Could they possibly do it in grand style, with the lowest point total in 10 years?

The Michigan and MSU women may not be 1-2 in the polls anymore but they're still two of the best teams in the country. The #1 Spartans are going for their fourth conference title in five years while the Wolverines are looking to get back on track after a third-place finish at Pre-Nats. In the men's race, Wisconsin will look to reclaim the title after Indiana snapped its streak of 14 consecutive wins last year.
