I used to be a die-hard Saucony Kinvara fan, but with the new iteration, I found myself straying away from my tried and true. That led me to the Ride, which has been a workhorse daily trainer for me during marathon training. At first, the shoe feels firm and snappy, which is a welcomed change from today's super foam and uber comfortable shoes, and it slowly softens up in a good way after 50+ miles. I found myself reaching for this shoe for long runs and tempo runs, as the upper and toebox are accommodating for long efforts. My largest concern with this shoe is the durability; I somehow managed to tear the rubber off the bottoms within 150 miles not once, but on three different pair.
Comparable to the Brooks Ghost. I found this version a tad more stable and comfortable. I put over 500mi on the shoe and it felt great until the last few runs. Solid value and a perfect all around daily trainer. I complemented with the Endorphin Speed for tempo and long runs.
good for running but not durable.
It took a few runs to feel softer but has felt great ever since. They have held up really well to easy medium long singles and doubles when I run right after work and don't have a second pair to switch into.
Ran in these as my everyday for 400ish miles. They just never felt smooth or fast. This shoe doesn’t pretend to be performance focused, but there are a lot of other daily trainers that don’t feel like they slow you down.
High marks for durability. Some light wearing through in the upper after 400-500 miles, and the sole held up very well.
I have been running in Saucony Rides for about 8 years - I alternate between the Rides and the Kinvaras every other day. The Rides are a stable shoe that Saucony has been making for years. Nothing snazzy or exciting but just a solid reliable training shoe that I continue to purchase each time I need a replacement.
Unfortunately, I've become a heavier runner over the years. This shoe has given me the support I need without breaking the bank. My knees hurt less after running in these.
Very comfortable and feels fast !
