Found a deadstock pair of these in a warehouse and put ~1000 miles on it before throwing it away. Adidas could've used more boost foam in the forefoot, but cushioning and tread held up extremely well. Upper is a standard mesh and holds the foot well. Those with a wider foot might consider sizing up. Classic ride, handles almost like an adidas soccer shoe. Great for daily mileage, though most people might like extra cushioning, especially on pavement. For speed sessions, this shoe is quite nimble but the wedge of heavier boost foam towards the back drags the shoe's center of gravity downward, which is much more noticeable at faster paces. Overall an excellent daily trainer for those who prefer a thinner shoe and happen to find one on sale somewhere. As the newer adidas bostons have nearly twice the cushioning, the adidas adios is the closest modern parallel.
The update from Boston 5 to Boston 6 took an already great shoes and made it even better. This shoe is the perfect weight to be durable and long lasting, but also not weight me down for speed work. I personally use this shoe for long runs all the way down to workouts around 5k pace, and then I prefer something a bit lighter. I think these are also a pretty killer looking shoe. The upper feels really good, and fits very comfortably.
Very good general running shoes. Suitable for all kind of basic running: track repeats, road races, base mileage.
I have had 2 pairs of these and put 600 miles in each. I use them for everything from tempos to a 50k race. The cushioning is just enough which is how I like it and I love the overall weight and feel of the shoe.
Amazing feel straight out of the box. Great neutral cushioned ride in a lightweight shoe. I am a bigger runner ( 185 - 190 lbs) so they only last for about 300 miles for me before the midsole breaks down.
Awesome shoe for clicking of faster miles in it. Boost coupled with the torsion plate gives it good pop and energy return. A little on the minimal side so would not recommend for longer milage or fat people.
Great shoe for clicking out faster splits. Wouldnt use for long run or if your fat.
I have 130+ miles on these shoes and I really like them. The upper is very light and thin. My foot is narrow, and this shoe fits me well. It is not as snug as a racing flat, but my foot does not move around in it. The heel takes some getting used to. The Achilles area holds well, but the heel cup feels too big at first. I feared my heel would slip in the shoe, but that did not happen. The midsole is made of Boost and it gives nice cushioning without eliminating the ground feel. The sole is Continental rubber and holds up well. These shoes are very versatile and can be used for most types of runs, but excel at a faster pace. If you train in a heavier shoe, they could be a race shoe for short races, but they seem best suited for racing 10-mile or greater distances. The shoe is a little expensive at list price, but I got them on a nice sale.
New shoe for me. Typically run in racing flats but wanted something a little meatier as I attempt to increase mileage. Like it.
This is my go-to trainer. This shoe is a consistent performer for the every day run.
