Believe it or not but we had a first on the LetsRun.com track talk podcast, we had a sprinter on the show. (subscribe here).
2003 World 400m Champion Tyree Washington was our special guest at [69:00] to talk about his incredible life and upcoming book. One of the greatest athletes never to make the Olympics, he overcame poverty, gangs, his sister murdering his nephew, injury, attempts to make the NFL, and dopers who deprived him of “millions” in his career. He beat Michael Johnson at age 20, earned a bronze medal at Worlds at age 20, and won the World Championship 400m in 2003. An interesting listen. More on Tyree and his upcoming book at Tyreeswashington.com. or follow him on instagram @therealtyreeswashington
Prior to that we discuss the Ivy League cancelling fall sports, Trayvon Bromell being back, Gabby Thomas being cleared, Shaunae Miller-Uibo’s double chances, Donavan Brazier’s 3:35, Usain Bolt’s daughter, and a way for us all to get rich.
