$20,020 LRC Running Warehouse Marathon Trials Prediction Contest

The 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials are Saturday in Atlanta LIVE on NBC and the LRC Running Warehouse / HOKA ONE ONE $20,020 Prediction Contest will make a great day even more interesting.

The contest is simple, pick the top 5 individuals in the men’s and women’s race and we score the contest fantasy sports style. The contest rewards you most for picking the the top 3 correctly but you can get points for your picks in the top 10. Full scoring at bottom.

We list the top entrants and their seed times if you need some help.

$20,020 Perfect Ballot – Pick the top 5 correctly in both contests correctly you’ll win $20,020 paid out equally over 10 years. Only one winner possible. If there is more than one winner you’ll split it.

Note: The Overall Winner and Individual Contest Winner prizes can only be shipped in the USA. Foreign participants can win the perfect ballot prizes.

1st place correctly picked – 100 points.
2nd place correctly picked – 50 points
3rd place correctly picked – 30 points
Correctly picking a person in the top 3 but in the wrong position – 25 points
4th place correctly picked – 15 points
Having one of your picks for the top 5 finish in the top 5 in any order –  10 points in addition to the ones above.
Having one of your picks for the top 5 finish in the top 10 in any order –  5 points in addition to the ones above.
(So if you get first dead on, you’ll actually get 115 points (100 + 10 + 5) for that pick.)
-1 point for each spot one of your picks in the top 5 that finishes in the top 10 is off from its actual spot (but you can’t get negative points on a pick). So if you pick someone 2nd and they finish 7th (or worse), you would get 0 points (5 points for a top 10 pick but lose a max of 5 points for them being 7th or worse) for this person. If you pick someone 2nd and they finish 6th you get 1 point on this person (5 points for top 5 – 4 points for them being 6th instead of 2nd = 1 point total).

If there is a tie overall, the first tie breaker is who is closest to the men’s or women’s overall winning time. Then we’ll first see who picked the most spots perfectly correctly on either the men’s or women’s side, then we’ll see who had the most runners in the top 5 in the top 5 on both sides of the competition, then we’ll have a drawing between all of the people still tied. If there is a tie in the men’s or women’s competition we’ll do the tiebreaker above but restrict it to the men’s or women’s competition.

Fine Print:

Oh yeah, only one entry per person. No computerized/mechanical entries. No purchase necessary. I’m sure we should have a bunch of legal stuff here. How about this: your picks and your login name are not private and may be displayed on our website. And we’re not responsible if the free contest gets cancelled for any reason, including if our database crashes. We’ll do our best to keep everything running smoothly. The top 5 in any event are final when we determine them at the end of the meet and this may not be the ultimate final top 5 (mainly due to drug busts or eligibility issues in the future). Additionally, this contest is obviously void where prohibited by law, which states those are – we don’t know. No purchase necessary. And yes, we can win our own contest. If we beat you, you’ll hear about it for sure. This contest is not affiliated with the USOC or the Olympics in any way.
