Stats Galore From Ken Nakamura For the 2016 Dubai Marathon

Here are some stats from the 2016 Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon courtesy of Ken Nakamura.

With 2:04:24 he ran today Tesgaye Abera became the fastest 23 year old in history. 21 years old Ayele Abshero has run faster, here in Dubai, however.
After today’s race top 10 average of Dubai marathon is now 2:04:40, tied for second with Chicago but still behind Berlin.
For women, the top 10 average of Dubai marathon is now 2:20:05, moving it up from 4th to 3rd behind London and Berlin
Tirfi Tsegaye became 3rd (after Burangulova and Mergia) women to win Dubai more than once; she also won in 2013.
The 2:20:48 by Amane Beriso is the fifth fastest debut time in history, just behind Tirunesh Dibaba’s debut time of 2:20:35.
2:19:41 by Tirfi Tsegaye is the third fastest time in Dubai.
2:04:46 by Asefa Mekonnen is the second fastest 3rd place time in history. Only Chumba’s 2:04:32 from 2014 Chicago marathon is faster.
2:04:46 by Asefa Mekonnen is the fastest 3rd place time in Dubai.
2:04:33 by Hayle Berhanu Lemi is the fastest 2nd place time in Dubai.
2:04:24 by Abera Dibaba Tsefaye missed the Dubai marathon record by 1 sec.
1:27:20 at 30Km is the fastest 30km split in the marathon.
1:12:49 at 25km is the fastest ever 25km split in the marathon. The previous best was 1:12:59 by Kebede in 2013 London.
