LOS ANGELES – Universal Sports Network, the year-round destination for Olympic, endurance and action sports programming, presents same day television coverage of the 2015 BMW Berlin Marathon Sunday, September 27 at 1 p.m. ET. In addition to TV coverage, UniversalSports.com will live stream the event to authenticated users starting at 3 a.m. ET.
The Berlin Marathon is considered the fastest course in the world and is home to seven of the last 10 world records. The flat course starts and finishes near the famous landmark Brandenburg Gate.
Early favorites in the elite men’s field include 2015 London Marathon Champion Eliud Kipchoge (Kenya), Emmanuel Mutai (Kenya) and Geoffrey Mutai (Kenya). On the women’s elite side, the one to watch include Gladys Cherono(Kenya), Aberu Kebede (Ethiopia) and Meseret Hailu (Ethiopia). Americans looking to make an impression in Berlin ahead of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials this February include Matt Llano (Flagstaff, Ariz.) and Wendy Thomas(Windsor, Colo.)
The Berlin Marathon is the fourth race of the 2015 World Marathon Majors (WMM) series. Currently, Universal Sports Network is the U.S. television home to four of the World Marathon Majors (WMM) including the Boston, London, Berlin and Tokyo races, and covers global endurance events including the Paris, Amsterdam and Sydney marathons and the ITU World Triathlon Series.
