Revised Bowerman Mile Results From The Prefontaine Classic: Leo Manzano No Longer A DNF

After the 2013 Prefontaine Classic last weekend, a thread popped on the boards titled, “Any explanation for Leo Manzano’s DNF at Pre this weekend?” Our response was, “Actually, we’re pretty sure he didn’t DNF.” In our recap of the Bowerman Mile, we said we could swear we saw him finish in about 4:00 and after some investigating, we were fairly certain he could be seen in pictures on the final straight, (although they were grainy and with everyone wearing similar blue singlets, we couldn’t prove it definitively).
People were wondering if maybe he stepped off the track right before the line, but now, five days later, the IAAF has issued a revised version of the results which shows Manzano as finishing in 4:00.04.
