(Colorado Springs, CO) – Craig Miller (New Balance) and Daniel Tapia (SRA) have joined the American Distance Project this January.  Miller will make the move after the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, while Tapia will move to Colorado Springs permanently after training bouts at Colorado altitude focused on April’s Boston Marathon.
Miller, who finished 8th in the 2012 US Olympic Trials 1500m, has a best of 3:36.35 for that event and a mile best of 3:56.41. He was an 8-time NCAA All-Amercian at the University of Wisconsin where he holds school records for the indoor mile and indoor 3,000m.  He was the 2012 US Road Mile champion and was the NCAA runner-up in the mile in 2009. Miller just won the New Balance Games this weekend in 3:56.90, an indoor persona best.
Tapia, who won the 2012 California International Marathon in December and was the first American to do so in 13 years, has a marathon best of 2:15:28 which he ran at the 2012 US Olympic Trials Marathon to finish 24th-place. Tapia has just finished law school and will now apply himself full-time to his training and racing.
