Im 12 and Im a 800m runner . My time is 2:30-2:35. I want to be able to do 2:15-2:20 at the end of the summer. I have my track and field practises on tuesday, wednesday and thursday and it end in mid july. Im starting to add a 20-25min run on monday and saturday. I will continue to train in august. Im thinking of the following program. I just want to make sure if this program is not overtraining and will not burn me out. This is the program i want to do in august:
NOTE: i prefer doing more speed endurance session than long run because i also like the 400m
Week 1
M: steady run 20-25 min
T: rest
W: 6x200m
T: rest
F: 4x2min run on grass
S: steady run 20-25min + plyometric
S: rest
Week 2
M: steady run
T: rest
W: 8x hill sprint 50m-60m
T: rest
F: 3x500m
S: steady run + plyo
S: rest
Week 3
M: steady run
T: rest
W: 6x150m
T: rest
F: 4x3min run
S: easy or steady run + low effort plyo
S: rest
Week 4
M: steady run
T: rest
W: 4x250m
T: rest
F: 150m-200m-250m-200m-150m
S: steady run
S: rest
