Hey Guys,
First time on letsrun here. I am a 2:29 road marathoner with 22 ultras under my belt. In the shorter and flatter races (trail marathon - 50k with less than 5k climbing) I have done decent with 7 podium finishes. But as the races get steeper/longer I blow up and have absolutely no success.
My typical week is sorta like a hal higdon method
M 8-12
Tu 8-12
Wed 6 morning 6 evening (speedwork in evening)
Thursday 8
Friday 8
Saturday 15-20
Sunday 15-20
It comes out to between 70-100 miles per week mainly in zone 2 with about 10k-15k feet of climbing.
