I was never a big Rush fan.. brother and dad were def big rush fans. That being said, the lead singer was good.. that chick had some pipes.
True story. I grew up a good Catholic boy. Altar boy. Choir boy. Did not listen to hard rock. Devil music. WCOZ was the hard rock station in Boston back in that day. Their motto was "Kick a$$ rock and roll!" A swear word! Nuns warned us not to listen. Saints preserve me. Anyway, probably about 7th grade, mom out of the house... I decide to see what it's all about... So I dial down to 94 and a half FM and I hear the DJ say matter of factly: "This is the Spirit of the Radio." I'll never forget that guitar intro. I was hooked. Literally the first "hard rock" I ever heard and it was a life altering experience.
