The best runner on my high school team (two time state champ as junior who ended up being stud Big 10 runner) had his wisdom teeth pulled early senior track season. Was running amazingly well and never really was the same after removal. Even with 2 months to state meet, it messed him up and didn't even have any issues with surgery or surgery recovery. Don't do it. Don't give blood. Don't stay out all night at prom if you want to have a great season. Seen it many times as a coach. It just does something to you that you can perform at top levelIt would be a terrible idea to do it. If you were my athlete, I'd tell you that you may as well leave the team if you get the surgery. Most people don't even need their wisdom teeth removed so you should look into it online. It's a racket to make money. DO NOT DO THIS DURING THE SEASONPs. There's no such thing as semi-elite high school runners !

My dentist is insisting I should get my wisdom teeth removed within the next 6 weeks. I am a semi-elite HSer and I really don't want this to interfere with my racing/training.
Any experiences with being able to run after removing wisdom teeth?

That dentist is a hack. Get a new dentist and get them removed when track is over.
Sometimes wisdom teeth are coming in straight into other teeth. In that case, waiting can cause other teeth to become extremely crooked or even pushed out completely. So your advice is useless without the full story.
At any rate, don't do what my girlfriend did in high school: go down on me the next day. She got an infection in her mouth and had to go back to get the surgery sites cleaned back out again. I of course don't know for sure if that was the cause ( she didn't volunteer that info to her dentist), but probably safest to wait a week.
Also, what are your times? If you haven't run under 9:20/4:20/1:55, just get them pulled.
