I tried your suggestions. Iron and Win, Trapeze Swinger--not too bad, pretty well written lyrics, though definitely well into the territory of the sappy/hangdog, come on, man up! Swing as high as any savior--is this a Christian band? probably not with the earlier language but then we also have the wall behind St. Peter's. Through the hell(?) can see forever. That's a long song to give time to sample the others. Amos Lee (Violin)-more sappiness. "Lately, I I've been headed for a breakdown." And I do not like the countryish sound. Tallest Man on Earth (Shallow Grave)--wait, did he say, "just like a lizard in the spring?" And is he doing some Bob Dylan twang? No. Just not to my taste. I like the live guitar he does better. But not the singing.
Ray Lamontagne (Beg Steal or Borrow)--also sappy. climbing life's long ladder.
Sorry, Iron and Win is the best of these but not too impressed by the others.
