Hey everyone,
Just after some advice. I have been struck with injury the past two years, hindering my training big time. I have never reached my potential. I am 20 years old and looking for some big personal bests. I have sorted some issues out and seem in a good place to pursue some decent times.
Never done big mileage. Lucky to average 30 mpw. Was with a coach who I recently dropped - kept getting injured, no structure, no real improvement for the effort I was putting in. Looking to train seriously from next year. Currently have no coach, just doing basic mileage until end of the year.
Personal Bests of: 52 400m, 1.57 800m, 4.07 1500m, 35 10km. Haven't done a 5km in about two or so years. HM 1.20 from two years ago off 20mpw for about six weeks coming off a stress fracture.
What are your thoughts? Should I build up consistent, big mileage and then branch off in to specific training? Wanting to drop my 5/10km time...in the process should be dropping everything from 800m up to HM.
