Charlie Francis was right in many ways. Speedtrap, and the Dubin Report are still the most honest, open and correct testimonials to the power of PEDs.
His influence on coaching is notable and many of his methodologies have been adopted by others. His own athletes invariably spoke highly of his mentoring and development skills as well as his personal commitment to them.
I can understand those who competed against his athletes will not share these views.
One of his key ideas will ultimately come to pass, once the official hypocrisy has been undermined by decades of well-informed public questioning of its rationale.
Two Olympics. One for those using PEDs, under state of the art medical supervision. And then, another, the Clean Olympics.
CF is right because the devil in everyone will compel them to pay per view for the doped century final, in which the descendants of Ben Johnson will explode and annihilate Bolt's times, clocking 9.30 or better. Meantime, the clean Olympics will be run in obscurity, and won in a meaningless 10.20.
