I started this post under a different subject name, but thought it might attract more attention under a different title.

Has anyone had any luck modifying green superfeet? The arch is a little too high for my left foot, but is perfect for my right foot. I'm considering shaving them down to provide a slightly better fit. Does anyone have any experience with this, or any advice to offer? Thanks in advance.

They eventually conform to your feet. They'll feel a little weird out of the box for a few days, but after walking and running around in them for a week or two, they'll be "customized" to your feet

Tried it per the recommendation of the running store guy that sold them to me. Didn't work really well. The thing is, I have a normal flat right foot, super floppy, needs to be propped up in place with an insole. My left foot though is a rigid flat foot. An elevated, molded arch is bad for it, and pretty damn painful. I've had custom orthotics made in the past without much success. Doctor's have told me that approx. 1% of the global population has rigid flat feet, with just one rigid flat foot, and one normal foot, I could truly be one of a kind. I figure, I know what feels right better than a physical therapist that takes a cast of my foot and mails it out to generic orthotic manufacturing company. I just thought if I shaved down the left insole maybe it would work. The right one works fine as is. The left arch is too high though. Thoughts?

Also, any experience cutting running shoes themselves? I.e. shaving down midsoles to get a better fit?
Thanks again.

I tried the green Superfeet insoles this spring and did not like them. I'm still trying to figure out what works.
Here is a blog post from an ultramarathoner that shaves down his Nike Frees. He has pics and a bit of a tutorial:

Thanks. That's really helpful.
