Brad Hudson seems to believe he has some nebulous claim on Trafeh - advisor/agent, if not coach?

Please Mo Trafeh is only 24 years old and just because he didn't like his coaching situation in college and prefers to coach himself now- doesn't mean it will last his whole career. I guarantee if someone gave him a nice contract and told him to join Dathan Ritzenhein group he wouldn't hestitatr in accepting such an offer.
Mo Trafeh is a tremendous talent and hopefully he can get a decent contract which would allow him to focus even more on performances and not making money to survive. When your running to put food on the table you feel you know whats best for you in training as its your livelyhood. Get him a contract and a training mate like Rupp, Lagat, or Ritz and I bet he jumps on the opportunity.
Should see more great performances from Mo in 2010 as he set ANOTHER PB at 15km AND A GREAT 20km time during his incredible 1/2 marthon today!
NEW YORK 1/2 Marathon:
Runner--------------5K 10K 15K 20K Finish
Trafeh, Mohamed..14:34.49...28:52.23...42:51.01 57:46.98...1:00:39
CONGRATULATIONS Mo Trafeh!
Another pretend American.
Why are we calling him Mo?
What's wrong with calling him Mohammed in New York City.
Sheesh!
He should fire his agent and get a new one if he doesn't have sponsorship by now.
Excellent Permormance mO!
Just moved to #9 on the half marathon all time list. If I were him I would go back to morocco and continue to train there until the trials. Its obviouslt working out well.
He'll be a real contender for an olympic spot for sure.

He went 13:51.03 in 2008 in the 5k, and 3:43 in 2008 in the 1500. that was his best year since HS. So it' snot quite a stretch as some of the stats being posted are making it out to be. although still big improvements.
By the look of his website www.motrafeh.com he is still looking for sponsorship...
Why would a sponsor be opposed to a self-coached runner? If it got him to where he's at then why would people assume that a coach would help him?
This was an aided course?

Why don't you travel back to 2003 when he was first known on the national level and ask people back then because he's been called that for at least 7 years.

Duh.
Unaided versus Aided: USATF Rule 185.5:
(a) The course must not have a net decrease in elevation from start to finish exceeding one part per thousand (i.e., one meter per kilometer.)
(b) The start and finish of the race must lie no more than 30% of the race distance apart as measured along the straight line between them, except when it can be shown that the average component of the wind direction at the head of the race (the lead runner) did not constitue a significant tail wind. Note: (a tailwind shall be deemed to be significant if it prevails consistently throughout more than 50% of the course during the race.) Editors note: This means that some point-to-point courses would be aided in some cases and unaided in others.)
Thanks for your response, but you seem to be way off on the proper usage of using duh.
If I had asked a more well-known, common question that remark would have been appropriate, but here it's horribly misused and out-of-place. Don't use elementary school vernacular if you don't know what it means.
His interview said he's gonna open up with track in a few weeks. I can't wait to see what this kid runs for a 5k or 10k. With his recent success I'd say he's lookin at 27:20s and 13:10s. Any doubters?
Its amazing how DEEP the US is nowadays!
wasn't this the same course the olympic trial were held...how comes you did not whine about the aidedness of the course then when ryan hall was celebrating with a sub 2:10.......give credit where it is due

That's ridiculous that he ran a 15K pb in this half. Holy cow, he won River Run by over a minute running 42:53! River Run is tough with the briges and all the sharp turns, but then apparently the first 10K of this course was on the Central Park loops and is hilly. The kid just seems to be running very well and becoming very very confident in himself.
You can put me in the doubters camp. Sub 13:20 and sub 27:30 is getting real quick and are performances that are slightly better than his current times. I mean the course record of the 15k is 30s faster by a guy that couldn't run either of those times (ok he was real close:)). Maybe he does it but maybe he runs a 27:40/13:25

based on the quote on the front page, he seems like a real creeper/stalker. just saying.
Mohammed Trafeh congratulations now get back to the track and crank out a sub 27:30 in 2010!
