Lou was thrown out of Syracuse University as a student for being such a f***ed up dude.
He's out there all right. You can occasionally catch him walking around NYC in broad daylight - not too many people seem to recognize him.

That's lame. This is not.

Real nice Flagpole - back in the days when bands lugged around that sweet sounding Hammond B3 (if I'm not mistaken).
the one track 'the gift' is something to be heard. just a story really. its about a guy who mails himself in a package to this girl. i wont give away the ending. its good though.
It seems like everyone I know including myself went through a VU stage where they listen to them a ton. I was way into them for a year. But ultimately their songs and music seem kind of irrelevant to me coming from the suburbs of a small west coast city.
They really are the most influential band ever, for better or worst. Its a shame that the Stones are very popular but aren't more influential. Let's face it, Rock and Roll music is essentially white people trying to co opt Blues, soul and R&B - whether you know it or not. The Stones did that better than anyone and yet bands never really pursued what the Stones did or tried to do. At best they just went through the motions of it or covered Stones songs but did it in their own style.
