I was having pain in the outside lower leg a few inches above the ankle, the area also had swollen up and I could not point my toes or walk without pain. After a couple weeks off, I ran a few days pain free, but now I have noticed that after 1/4 mile of running, a bump starts to form in that same area, if I stop and walk it starts to go away. There is no pain, but I am afraid that if I continued to run then it would continue to swell and start to hurt again.
Any idea what is going on? Should I try to run on it if I don't feel pain?
