Supposedly Hicham El Guerrouj ran 10 x 400 meters in 53-54" with only a 30 second recovery after each.
Also, supposedly he runs 10 x 300 meters in 35-36", which works out to 47-48" 400 meter pace.
Another runner (I couldn't figure out who by the thread, probably also Guerrouj) supposedly ran 3 x (10 x 400 meters) in 53-54", with a one minute recovery after each rep, and five minutes between the sets.
Supposedly Wilson Kipketer ran two sets of 20 x 200 meters in 26", with 30" recoveries.
Supposedly Paul Tergat ran 25 x 400 meters in 55-56 with a 60" recovery, and then later Toby Tansers second of "Train Hard Win Easy the Kenyan Way" said that he ran the repeats starting at 61" and ending up at 57".
Could it be that some of these runners are lying in order to psyche out their competition?. If they could really do the above workouts, they should be capable of racing faster than they have.
And how long would it take to recover from such workouts - without the assistance of steroids?
