Hedengren vs. Kosgei in the 10k is really happening tonight. Amazing that the brojos didn't put this on the front page. Click "Collegiate Entry List" to confirm:

Valby was on fire when she ran 30:50 and the 10k is her best event. She finished 11th in the Olympics soon after. I don't think Hedengren is there yet.

31:10 is my guess.

14:44.0 (I count as outdoors since BU is as fast as any) indoors is 1195 WA points for women = 30:58

(For reference, for men, 14:44 = 859 = 31:09)

I would place her at just around the 31:00 barrier.

31:39 or DNF. To long for her at this point. If she had been born just a little later she could have been going after an American Junior record though.

You don't get much better conditions typically than Stanford at this time of year, so go for time now. She's well ahead of Valby's 5000m form right now, so I figure she's ahead of her 10000m form as well. Since Hedengren is a lot faster at the mile than Valby at her best, and they are similar at 3k, you'd predict Valby already to be ahead at 5000m and well ahead at 10000m, but Hedengren is actually quite a bit better at 5000m and so I predict sub-30:40 (30:36).

I doubt she’ll double 5/10 at NCAA, so she’s probably going for a fast time.

For some reason, the WA points tables are out wack for the 5000m to 10000m calculations. 14:44 is comparable to about 30:30.

I think they'll go for the record. That way there will be no need to run another 10k until regionals or conference.
